What it does

Makes a conversion CATEGORY primary or secondary — the CORRECT lever for Smart Bidding in a goal-based account. Unlike update_conversion_action's legacy primary_for_goal flag, this ALSO works on Google-hosted 'local actions' (map/profile signals) that the API otherwise refuses to change. category+origin identify the goal (list_conversion_goals lists them): category='ENGAGEMENT' origin='GOOGLE_HOSTED' covers Google Business 'other engagements'; category='PHONE_CALL_LEAD' origin='CALL_FROM_ADS' covers calls from ads. role: 'PRIMARY' (biddable) | 'SECONDARY'. Pass campaign_id to override just that campaign; omit for account-wide. confirm=false → dry-run.

How to use it

You don't call tools by name. Write what you want in ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant connected to Opus Growth, in your own words; it picks this tool when it fits.

Because this tool changes your account, your assistant first shows a preview of exactly what will change. Nothing is applied until you say yes, and every applied change is written to your audit log.
