Connecting ChatGPT Ads

To manage the ads that run inside ChatGPT (OpenAI Ads) from Claude or ChatGPT, you connect your ad account's API key once.

Steps

Open OpenAI Ads Manager (ads.openai.com) and create an Ads API key under Settings. Each key covers one ad account.
In the panel, open Connections, press Connect on the ChatGPT Ads card, paste the key and choose Verify and connect. You can also do it in chat by asking to connect your ChatGPT Ads account.
The key is verified against your account before it is stored; a key that cannot be verified is not saved. A verified key is stored encrypted.

Ads do not run until OpenAI approves the account review; the connection screen shows the review status and the reason, if there is one.
To connect more than one ad account you add each account's own key; from the second account on, the Agency plan is required.
To rotate a key, connect the new key to the same account; it replaces the old one.
New campaigns and ads are created paused, and every write action is shown to you as a preview first.
