What it does

Turns a Google Ads AD GROUP on or off, or removes it: status 'ENABLED' to enable / resume / unpause / reactivate the group, 'PAUSED' to pause / stop / turn off a whole ad group at once, or 'REMOVED' to delete it. REMOVED is PERMANENT: the ad group leaves the campaign and CANNOT be re-enabled (its reporting history stays), so pause first if you are unsure. This is the missing middle level — update_campaign_status handles the campaign, update_ad_status a single ad, and this one the ad group. Pausing the group stops every ad and keyword inside it, so this is the right way to switch off a theme that is wasting budget; pausing the keywords one by one does NOT stop the group's ads. confirm=false → dry-run.

How to use it

You don't call tools by name. Write what you want in ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant connected to Opus Growth, in your own words; it picks this tool when it fits.

Because this tool changes your account, your assistant first shows a preview of exactly what will change. Nothing is applied until you say yes, and every applied change is written to your audit log.
