What it does
Set SEO fields on a connected WordPress site: the meta description, meta title, canonical or focus keyword of a PAGE or of a CATEGORY/TAG archive, or the site's Google and Bing verification codes.
Pass id for a post or page. Pass term_id (with taxonomy, default 'category') for a category or tag ARCHIVE — those archives rank for their own queries and ship with an empty title and no description unless someone sets them, and the SEO plugin keeps term fields somewhere completely different from page fields, so id and term_id are not interchangeable. wordpress_terms returns term ids and writes the archive's own body text, which is the term description rather than an SEO field.
Pass id with description to fix a page whose meta description seo_audit flagged as missing. Pass google_verification with the code from Search Console to verify the site, with no id: you can paste the whole meta tag, the code is extracted from it. Verification is written into the site's SEO plugin when it has one, otherwise the connector outputs the tag itself. An empty string clears a page field; run wordpress_seo first to see the current values. A verification code is never replaced silently: if one is already set, the existing value comes back and nothing is written; overwrite=true replaces it. Replacing a code that belongs to another Search Console property drops that property's verification.
