Search data your assistant cannot reach on its own: keyword volume and difficulty, competitor gaps, backlink profiles, live SERPs, and whether AI answer engines mention your brand. It is an add-on, billed from its own balance.
Why it is separate
Every other tool here reads an account you already own, using your own authorization, so it costs us nothing beyond a request. This one buys third-party search data for each query, which has a real per-call price. Folding that into plan credits would mean everyone paying for it, including the majority who never run an SEO query, so it sits in its own balance that you top up when you want it.
Credits and costs
SEO credits are bought in packs and are separate from your plan's monthly actions. Running out of SEO credits does not affect your ad tools, and running out of plan credits does not affect these.

Packs start at 1,000 credits and go up to 15,000; the exact price is on the add-ons screen in the panel.
Results are cached, and cached results are free
A customer asked whether yesterday's run could be reused instead of paying for the same query twice, which was a fair point, so results are stored per account and returned without a charge when you ask again. How long a result stays reusable depends on how fast that kind of data actually moves.

A cached answer says so, along with how old it is, so you always know whether you are looking at fresh data. When you want a fresh run regardless, ask for a refresh and it re-queries at the normal cost. Caches are never shared between accounts.
Common questions
Do SEO credits expire?
No. The balance is yours until you spend it; it is not a monthly allowance and does not reset.
Why did a query cost nothing?
You asked something that had been run recently, so the stored result came back instead. This is also why the balance check happens after the cache is consulted: someone who has run out of credits can still read what they already paid for.
Do I need this add-on to do SEO work at all?
No. Search Console gives you real query, click and position data for your own site at ordinary plan cost, and that answers a lot of questions. The add-on is for what Search Console cannot tell you: your competitors, the wider keyword market, backlinks, and how AI answers talk about you.
Where does the data come from?
From a third-party search data provider we pay per query, which is exactly why it is metered this way rather than bundled.
